Katelyn & Cory’s wedding was our 16th and final for 2016! Our second indoor ceremony and a beautiful December day! Life was moving fast for this sweet couple, so they moved their wedding date up nine months. We are so grateful they did not give up on their dream wedding. Katelyn and Cory are a true team, working together to make their day an grand celebration of their love. Photos by Amanda Lynn Photography.
By Kristi Moore:
We met Katelyn and Cory at our Open House in April along with both of their moms and Katelyn’s grandmother. They were such fun group–lots of smiles and laughter. Through our first conversation we learned that night that Katelyn loves to dance. She was busting a move with Matt Butler, who she eventually booked for her DJ. A week later they were back to book with us. The planning began for September 30th, 2017.
Once the contract is signed, we don’t often hear from our couples until 30 days out from the wedding date to meet for their final meeting. About three and a half months after the contract signing, Katelyn called Juli a little stressed, saying that they needed to cancel their wedding. Both Katelyn and Cory were working and going to school full time, buying a house and planning a wedding. Things became a little overwhelming and stressful. At the end of the day Katelyn and Cory just wanted to be married and start their happily ever after as soon as possible. After several conversations with Juli to figure out how we could help them. Katelyn and Cory decided to move their wedding up to December 17th, 2016. We were so thankful we found a solution!
The plans that were made for the September 30th, 2017 wedding really didn’t fit for a December wedding. Even with the short amount of time they had, all the changes to the decor, her dress, inside ceremony fell into place. We were a little nervous about 180 guest count and an inside ceremony but after hours of setup and rearranging tables, everything worked out really well. Katelyn decided to have the ceremony in front of our barn doors using wreaths and fabric, creating a simple but gorgeous backdrop. With the exception of a few rows for parents and grandparents the other guests sat around their tables. We did our best to make sure there was a center aisle so the gorgeous bride could still have her grand entrance.
The reception was so much fun! We had our first father-daughter dance where it started out slow then went into the perfect remix of all the latest songs. It was one of the highlights of the night. Katelyn had warned us she loves to dance and I don’t think she left the dance floor all night.
We could not have asked for a better ending to our first year of weddings then to end it with the new Mr. and Mrs. Griffin. They are a genuine couple and we wish them the very best!!
